Sir Geoffrey Vos, Chancellor of the High Court,has spoken on the future for the UK’s jurisdiction and English law after Brexit at a legal business seminar in Frankfurt.
He focused on the independence and accountability of UK and European judiciaries, and said the UK aimed to face up to the challenges of Brexit and work with European colleagues to achieve solutions that work for UK and European business.
The Chancellor outlined the serious challenges regarding the citizens’ rights, the regulation of anti-competitive practices and the question of financial passporting and regulation that are particularly important for businesses across the sectors, and across the EU, as well as in the UK.
