Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) presented its strategy for Brexit including website to inform firms

Nausicaa Delfas, Executive Director of International at FCA, before introducing the institutional approach on Brexit, outlined how the authority took no position on whether Brexit is a good or bad thing in itself, but stressed out its interest in ensuring that the financial markets will continue to work well, in line with the statutory objectives, to:

  • Secure an appropriate degree of protection for consumers. 
  • Protect and enhance the integrity of the UK financial system. 
  • Promote effective competition in the interests of consumers. 

FCA is working towards the implementation of an agreement ensuring the interests of both the UK and the EU. Additionally, the authority is collaborating with the Bank of England and the government to develop a number of safeguards and contingencies in preparation for all prospective scenarios, including the possibility of a ‘no-deal’ or ‘hard’ Brexit at March 2019.
The institution has released a website to inform local firms and EU ones on current regulations on business
